Olivia is TWO!

Last weekend MJ and I traveled back to The Woodlands to celebrate Olivia's birthday. For those of you who don't know, Olivia's proud parents are Steven and Judy DePrang. Michael, Steven and Judy met in ninth grade art class and have been friends ever since. Then, in 2003 Michael helped me get a job at The Woodlands Recreation Center where Judy also worked. They truly are some of our best friends. We were in each other's weddings, at Olivia's birth ... you get the drift :)

Judy always does a fabulous job with any kind of get together and this party for 50 + people was no exception. She had to at the last minute change the venue from Northshore Park to HER house because of the weather, but no problem! Needless to say, it was a great party with YUMMY food. Happy Birthday Olivia! Your parents love you so much and so do we!

Whirlwind Weekend

Wow! I can't believe it's Monday! It was such a great weekend. It has been so much fun but now it is catching up with me, ugh. On Friday I headed back to Houston to meet the girls for the Rodeo. Vanessa and I met all the girls at the new restaurant, TQLA (pronounced Tequila). It was so fun to hang out with my girls again. Leslie, Hayden and I took full advantage of the margarita flights. I highly recommend them! Mango was by far our favorite flavor! Then it was off to the rodeo for Lady Antebellum! They put on such a great show.

Margarita flight, YUM!

Lady Antebellum!

The whole group!

Saturday morning came early and I packed up and headed to meet my sister, Sarah. One thing to know about us Simonson girls is we can eat Mexican food all day, every day. So, naturally we met up at the new Chuy's in College Station. It was great to catch up with her and her life. It's weird to think at one time we shared a room, bunk beds in fact, and knew every thing about each other. Now, as we get older and have our own lives we literally have to catch up with what the heck is going on!

At Chuy's. Love you Sarah!

After my short lunch with Sarah I drove home to Cedar Park. I met MJ at home and we went shopping for curtains and items to "complete" our living room. I should have taken a picture when we were done hanging them up, woops. Then we came home, made a pizza and watched our latest Netflix delivery, "Smokin' Aces". Warning: intense language and violence but really good and original storyline.

Sunday we remembered to set our clocks ahead and made it to church at The Stone. Great message on Genesis 26 and how in the Bible there is a pattern of generational sin but an even greater pattern of generational faith. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

For lunch we headed to Wahoo's! We first visited Wahoo's in Denver then as we leave The Woodlands they open one there! Luckily we found one in Austin on South Congress. The best fish tacos in our opinion. Then I made MJ walk back down Congress to the pet adoption center. I've wanted a dog real bad ever since we got married but MJ has held strong or maybe just ignored my begging and pleading. Sigh, one day. Then I finally got to have my first Hey Cupcake cupcake experience! Delicious! I had the Double Dose {$3.00} chocolate cake with chocolate icing. MJ had the Snowcap also {$3.00} chocolate cake with a vanilla buttercream icing.

Double Dose & Snowcap cupcakes :)

When we got home I finally got to plant my herbs. Thanks to my wonderful husband and gardening partner! We are going to have sweet basil, cilantro and chives!

I got these adorable markers at Target

my Topsy Turvy tomato plant... no tomatoes yet

So, you know how out of the seed packet you plant a few seeds and maybe a few of them will sprout? Well...

We are literally going to have 18 tomato plants! So, when they start producing tomatoes your all getting some!
